TGaS Advisors Promotes Carro to Principal, Appoints Kain and Sharp to Lead Marketing Sciences Operations and Compliance Solutions


East Norriton, Penn., January 19, 2010 – TGaS® Advisors , the leader in benchmarking and advisory services for pharmaceutical commercial operations, announced that John Carro was promoted to Principal. The firm also hired John C. Kain as Vice President, Management Advisor, Marketing Sciences, and Kevin C. Sharp, Director, Management Advisor, Commercial Compliance Solutions.

Carro, who came to TGaS Advisors in 2008, was previously Vice President, Management Advisor, Sales Operations Practice. Stephen E. Gerard, TGaS Advisors Managing Partner, said, “John’s senior-level experience in a broad range of pharmaceutical companies and positions gives him a rare cross-functional perspective in virtually every aspect of commercial operations. He is an invaluable asset to clients and to us.”

Kain leads the firm’s Marketing Sciences solutions, including strategy, management and client advisory services across such key functions as primary and secondary research, marketing analytics, forecasting, competitive intelligence and business development. Kain has led pharmaceutical market research and analytics teams for nearly two decades, working with such firms as ImpactRx, NDC Health Information Services (now Wolters Kluwer Health) and others. During his career, Kain has worked with the Marketing Sciences functions of the majority of the large and mid-tier biopharmaceutical companies. He is a graduate of Drexel University.

Sharp, Director, Management Advisor, is responsible for the firm’s Commercial Compliance Solutions, including Commercial Compliance Operations and PDMA. One of TGaS Advisors’ newest and fastest growing solutions, Commercial Compliance covers such areas as anti-kickback, state reporting, false claims, OIG and PhRMA codes in addition to PDMA. Sharp is currently enrolling companies in a Commercial Compliance benchmark designed to help them identify areas of risk, optimize compliance requirements and understand the most current thinking with respect to meeting regulatory requirements.

Sharp, who helped develop the Commercial Compliance Solution as a consultant, is experienced in sales managerial operations, business development and client services. He supported global data management, sample administration and sales force automation at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals and has held positions at Publicis Selling Solutions, HighPoint Solutions and Archi-Tech Systems. Sharp, who studied Business Administration at Bloomsburg University and Marketing Leadership at Wharton Business School, also served in the U.S. Army.
