TGaS Advisors’ Gerard Featured on Executive Leaders Radio
East Norriton, Penn., December 21, 2009 – Executive Leaders Radio, a top Philadelphia business news radio station, recently interviewed Stephen E. Gerard, Founder and Managing Partner of TGaS® Advisors, a leading benchmark and advisory services firm serving the pharmaceutical industry. Program co-hosts Herb Cohen and Jeff Mack spoke with Gerard about TGaS Advisors’ rapid growth since its founding in 2003, how Gerard came up with the idea and grew the business and his advice for entrepreneurs just starting out. Gerard spoke about his beginnings in finance and in sales and marketing, where he kept hearing the question, “How do other pharmaceutical companies do it?”® He realized he could answer this question by building a collaborative, confidential peer-set benchmark around questions on the minds of Commercial Operations executives at major pharmaceutical firms. Although it took nine months to gather the first five clients, the necessary critical mass for a benchmark, the business soon took off. Today, TGaS Advisors continues to be an award-winning growth company approaching 30 employees, with a growing global presence and 11 solutions serving the majority of the top 50 pharmaceutical companies.
Asked about the impact of today’s economy, Gerard said, “The more turbulent the times, the more interest companies have in us. It’s like sailing through a storm. Companies want to know how others are navigating these rough seas.”
As for young entrepreneurs, Gerard advised, “Do something you love to do and can’t wait to work on.” For Gerard it was analytics from his earliest paper route days to the daily challenges of a multi-million-dollar business. And for TGaS Advisors and its clients, that passion continues to pay off.
