Vice President, Management Advisor
John Carro is Vice President, Management Advisor for TGaS Advisors. He is responsible for existing services as well as for developing innovative new solutions for clients in his role within the Sales/Sales Operations Practice.
Carro’s career, spanning more than 20 years in the industry, has positioned him to respond to the emerging needs of pharmaceutical clients. His background includes senior level experience in top five, mid-tier and start-up pharmaceutical commercial operations environments. He has held positions in sales, marketing, sales & marketing operations and finance giving him a broad, cross-functional perspective in virtually every aspect of commercial operations in the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry.
Carro came to TGaS Advisors from King Pharmaceuticals Inc. where he was vice president, Commercial Operations. While at King, Carro assisted in establishing a new commercial operations presence by providing strategic direction while the company’s infrastructure was relocated to New Jersey from Tennessee. Among his duties at King, he assessed, restructured, built and directed the sales, marketing and managed care commercial operations platform for the $1.7 billion branded business.
Prior to his position at King Pharmaceuticals, Carro was with Yamanouchi Pharma America Inc., where he served as U.S. head/director, Sales and Marketing Operations, and worked to establish the U.S. Market Company Commercial Operations presence. Through a merger, the company formed Astellas Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in his career, he held sales, marketing and operational leadership positions at the pharmaceutical companies Pharmacia and Wyeth.
Carro holds an MBA from Villanova University in Pennsylvania and a BS in accounting from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. He earned a Certificate of Business Excellence from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business in New York.
