TGaS Advisors Launches Compliance Operations Benchmark (COPs)
Ambler, Penn., May 18, 2007 — TGaS® Advisors announced the launch of a new collaborative benchmark focusing on pharmaceutical commercial operations compliance issues. Companies are currently being enrolled in TGaS’s Compliance Operations Practices, also known as COPs. This new benchmark will focus on how pharmaceutical companies are managing issues raised by increased oversight, including the Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA), Office of the Inspector General (OIG) guidelines, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) guidelines, organizational structures and resources, compliance with state regulations and general compliance operations.
“This new benchmark was developed in response to clients’ requests to find the answer to a critical question in today’s heightened regulatory environment: ‘How do other pharmaceutical companies do ‘it’?®’” said TGaS Managing Partner Stephen Gerard. “COPs will help them learn from aggregated information and insights how their peers are thinking about and handling this challenging issue.”
COPs joins the firm’s PHARMASTANCE® family of operational benchmarks, which include Sales Operations Practices (SOPs), Specialty Sales Operations Practices (SSOPs), Internet Marketing Operations Practices (iMOPs), Marketing Operations Practices (MOPs), Marketing Sciences Operations Practices (MSOPs), District Manager Operations Practices (DMOPs) and Managed Markets Operations Practices (MMOPs).
As with other PHARMASTANCE benchmarks, COPs begins with information-gathering and in-depth personal interviews conducted by TGaS professionals. Companies participating in the collaborative peer-set receive confidential, unbiased blinded data and customized implementation recommendations based on this information. The results are not syndicated or made available outside the peer-set.
