Jim Mercante joined TGaS® Advisors shortly after the company was founded in 2003, bringing more than 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical IT solutions and sales.
Mercante’s background includes eight years in the healthcare industry, where he was responsible for delivering field sales and marketing support to the pharmaceutical industry. He has personally led or managed over 40 sales force automation (SFA) and customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives, including major field sales solution projects at Wyeth, Novartis, Roche, Sanofi-Synthelabo, Purdue Frederick, Pharmacia, and Abbott Labs.
Earlier in his professional career, Mercante held a wide variety of technology related posts at the DuPont Company before focusing on field sales and marketing technology.
Mercante has been published in various industry and technology publications, including Product Management Today, as well as articles on technology web sites. He has delivered presentations at pharmaceutical industry conferences, including ePharma Summit, as well as technology trade shows, and the Siebel Users Conference. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Delaware, as well as an MBA from the same institution.
