Nestle Health Sciences/Aimmune, Vice President, US Pricing & Market Access

Summary:

This position is responsible for developing and leading all U.S. based Market Access related activities for GI and Allergy therapeutic markets and portfolio, including, pricing, payer access, reimbursement programs (e.g. patient assistance, payer promotions, co-pay cards, etc.), payment codes, contracting strategies and execution and supporting internal operations including government price reporting, trade and channel management.  This position collaborates closely with Aimmune’s European colleagues to understand regional pricing strategies and their global pricing implications. In close collaboration with Marketing, Medical Affairs and Clinical Development this position is also responsible for identifying and establishing the necessary strategies and tactics to generate high quality, evidenced based U.S. focused HEOR data, as appropriate.

Specific Responsibilities:

Developing and leading all U.S. based Pricing & Market Access initiatives required for the current portfolio and successful commercialization of future product candidates. These initiatives include but are not limited to:

·       Develop and execute pricing, payer, and distribution strategies for new products, new formulations, and new additions to the portfolio via acquisition

·       Managing a comprehensive pricing and distribution strategy to maximize both the short and long-term value of the portfolio while assuring widespread patient access to the products.  Provides oversight and supports alignment of all global pricing strategies for all current and future company CODIT products.

·       Develops and implements strategies and is responsible for contract execution to optimize inpatient and outpatient coverage and reimbursement of company’s products (e.g. patient assistance, payer promotions, co-pay cards, etc.) to facilitate speed and ease of patient access.

·       Leads regular discussions with internal and external partners, to ensure coordinated approaches to coverage and reimbursement issues & oversees day to day operations of all access and reimbursement support services for company’s products.

·       Oversees government price reporting with finance support and ensures government contract compliance with the Veteran’s Administration, Department of Defense, Medicare Part D Coverage Gap and State Medicaid programs.

·       Works cross-functionally with key stakeholders including Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Marketing, Sales and Commercial Operations to ensure reimbursement issues are well understood and that solutions are developed and executed consistently and in compliance with Aimmune’s policies and procedures.

·       Ensures the Market Access team has the necessary tools and skills to do their jobs effectively and compliantly by working with external vendors and internal partners including Health Economics, Compliance, Legal Finance, Regulatory and Medical Affairs.

·       Responsible for directing the activities of the Strategic Account field teams focused on: Payers, Pharmacy Benefits Managers, Specialty Pharmacies, Group Purchasing Organizations and Hospitals and other Managed Care entities responsible for the distribution and coverage of the company’s products. 

·       In collaboration with Marketing, develops strategy, tactics and promotional tools for the Strategic Account field team to use with insurers in support of the value of our products

·       Oversees trade strategy and channel implementation including use of wholesalers, distributors, specialty distributors, specialty pharmacies, etc. all in close collaboration with marketing, manufacturing, and finance.

·       Work with policy makers, federal agencies and patient advocacy societies to establish new or modify existing payment codes to adequately recognize and remunerate the HCPs involved in the treatment of our target patient populations.

·       Provides pricing and market access support for in-licensing and out-licensing business development initiatives

Qualifications / Requirements:

·       BS/BA degree in related discipline and 12 years of related experience; or,

·       MS/MA degree in related discipline and 10 years of related experience; or,

·       Equivalent combination of education and experience.

·       5 or more years experience leading Market Access Payer and Distribution Strategic Account Teams as well as Pricing, contracting, and government reporting

·       Has extensive experience in relevant industry/profession/therapeutic area. Has experience in building organizations from the ground up; specifically, in the field of biopharma/biotech

·       Capable of leading & managing tactical responsibilities as the organization grows to prepare for its first product launch.

·       Uses broad expertise or unique knowledge and skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.

·       Develops technical and/or business solutions to complex problems.

·       Identifies and implements methods, techniques, procedures and evaluation criteria to achieve results.

·       Guides the successful completion of major programs, projects and/or functions.

·       Leads or manages the work of others by providing guidance to subordinates or teams based on organizational goals and company policy, with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.

·       Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to companywide policies and/or divisional programs. May establish organizational policies in a major segment of the company.

·       Has extensive knowledge of other related disciplines.

·       Applies strong analytical and business communication skills.

·       Track record of challenging orthodoxy and forging novel solutions to standard problems.
