Praxis Precision Medicines, Inc. Program Lead

Location: Cambridge, MA

Praxis is looking for a talented and experienced leader for a key program expected to generate best in class products for areas of high unmet medical need. The ideal candidate is a strong, multi-faceted leader as the program continues its rapid trajectory of transformational patient impact.

This results-oriented individual will be characterized by a strong strategic mind, a collaborative nature and intellectual curiosity, and will credibly and enthusiastically work with leaders and teams across the spectrum of research, development, technical operations and commercialization. They will lead a cross-functional program team and be responsible and accountable for Praxis’ program strategy, the integrated development plan(s), driving decision-making, and ensuring efficient and high-quality execution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Internally and externally communicate a shared and bold vision for the program; exemplify and build patient-centricity to the program
  • Build, lead manage, and maintain the Program Team, partnering with functional leads to ensure team effectiveness and operational excellence
  • Be a role model for Praxons: inspire team members to achieve ambitious goals, providing feedback and mentorship to drive high performance; build trust and respect across the team and its members; model behaviors and support team members
  • Lead the creation and execution of the program strategy and integrated development plan(s)
  • In collaboration with the Program Team, lead the creation of and deliver on program objectives and key results (OKRs)
  • Partner and provide strategic oversight for program budgets and resourcing
  • Architect scenarios to inform decision making and program planning; ensure that the right skills and capabilities exist on the team to effectively execute on the program plan
  • “Roll up sleeves and get hands dirty” for the benefit of the team and the team’s objectives; be able to wear multiple hats and fill in when needed; hold self as accountable as team
  • Point of contact for integration with corporate processes
  • Where applicable, serve as strategic and operational point person to alliance partners


Qualifications:

  • Relevant drug development experience with strong track record of cross-functional team leadership. Experience with the entire drug development lifecycle is a plus
  • Must possess a unique combination of strategic perspective / critical thinking, organizational savvy and operational know-how and efficiency, with a demonstrated ability to link strategy and execution to drive value
  • Strong holistic perspective of drug development process across different functional streams
  • Scientifically and business astute with learning agility, translating to a demonstrated ability to develop deep understanding of therapeutic areas and optimal development and overall business strategies
  • Team leadership, project management and organizational skills, along with problem solving, negotiations skills, conflict resolution, and team building skills. Experience in the use and understanding of the value of technology in managing milestones, resource planning and integrating interdependencies and cross functional teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a broad array of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated alliance management skills desirable
